LED LIGHTING
Forest Preserve Golf Courses are committed to becoming fully outfitted with LED lighting. LED Lighting is more efficient and requires less power than other forms of lighting.
ELECTRIC CARTS
Gas powered golf carts run on traditional fuel and produce carbon monoxide emissions while electric golf carts produce no fumes or emissions. They run on rechargeable batteries that don’t harm the surrounding environment. George Dunne is proud to participate in the Electric Cart Sustainability Initiative.
REDUCING WASTE, RECYCLING MORE
FPG is committed to limit the use of plastic onsite. All beverages are served in either paper or aluminum containers. Any plastic products found onsite are made from recycled material and recycled paper towels are provided at our facilities. By reducing plastic consumption and using recyclable materials, we prevent pollution, save energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
GOING DIGITAL, PAPERLESS
Check onsite for QR Code markers and find our scorecard through our app. Going paperless helps to reduce CO2 emissions. Turning a single tree into 17 reams of paper results in 110 lbs of CO2 released in the atmosphere. Every tree that is not cut down for paper usage is able to absorb CO2 gases.
REFILLABLE WATER STATIONS
Plastic waste is one of the most critical environmental issues. By refilling your water bottle, you can help cut carbon emissions and reduce the number of disposable plastic bottles that pollute our land and waterways. Visit the Golf Shop to purchase your branded aluminum water bottle.
PROTECTING OUR LOCAL HABITAT
We are proud to be certified as Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International. The courses are committed to protecting our local environment, conserving natural resources, and providing wildlife habitats.
